File Compare is a GUI front-end to the md5 Unix command. With this small app you can compare two files and discover whether they are digitally identical. You can use File Compare to check all types of files: images, music, documents, etc. System Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4.x, 10.5.x.
- When you've got it ready to go, type diff in at the prompt followed by a space, and then drag the two folders you want to compare and drop them on the Terminal window. It doesn't matter what order.
- I like to start with the original Unix command-line tool that shows you the difference.
- The git diff command can be passed an explicit file path option. When a file path is passed to git diff the diff operation will be scoped to the specified file. The below examples demonstrate this usage. Git diff HEAD./path/ to / file.
